We are looking for an experienced Senior AML/CTF Manager to join our journey into the UAEs e-money services market. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in identifying regulatory gaps, ensuring robust compliance programs, and continuously improving our risk management framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk and compliance framework, including risk assessment matrices and transaction monitoring rules, in line with AML typologies and CBUAE guidelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate disclosure of any suspicious activity or reasonable grounds for suspicion of money laundering to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
- Oversee the firms risk management policies and risk profiles, ensuring thorough documentation and implementation.
- Collaborate with management to maintain a risk-based approach to AML, including risk assessments of customers, products, and services.
- Establish and manage monitoring processes proportional to the scale, nature, and complexity of the firms operations.
- Draft and maintain internal procedures aligned with relevant legislation and industry guidelines.
- Document and oversee the firms risk-based strategies, risk assessments, and monitoring processes.
- Ensure prompt investigation of all internal suspicious activity reports, and ensure Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are filed with the relevant authorities.
- Monitor compliance with AML/CTF policies, ensuring ongoing development and effectiveness of these policies.
- Train staff in AML/CTF prevention, ensuring training standards are appropriate and training records are maintained.
- Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of money laundering compliance policies to counter terrorism financing.
- Prepare and present periodic reports (quarterly or as required) to the Board and senior management on compliance with AML/CTF obligations.
- Recommend corrective actions for any deficiencies in policies, procedures, systems, or controls, and follow through on implementation.
- Serve as the key representative to external regulators, law enforcement agencies, and third parties on AML/CTF matters.
- Stay informed about sanctions, prohibitions, and advisory notices, advising management and relevant staff of any changes or individuals on the sanctions list.
- Respond promptly to regulatory or law enforcement requests for information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience: Prior experience in e-money services and financial compliance, specifically within fintech or payments industries, is strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Law, or related fields.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of AML/CTF laws and regulations, particularly in the UAE.
