Job Purpose
Lead Aldar's ESG data strategy, ensuring ESG data accuracy and assurance readiness. Manage ESG data system and ensure ESG data management automation and train the relevant teams on using the system. Lead ESG data analysis and provide insights for decisions. Oversee ESG ratings, disclosure, and risk register and update the risk register quarterly.
Roles & Responsibility
- Develop Aldar's ESG data strategy and architecture, and continuously manage ESG data to ensure completeness, accuracy, assurance and readiness.
- Manage ESG data management system and ensure data management and reporting automation, and train the relevant teams to use the system
- Analyze ESG data and provide insights for sustainability-driven decision. Report on progress, benchmark indices and identify gaps.
- Bring continuous improvements to ESG ratings and disclosure and proactively managing them, including conducting regular ESG gap assessments
- Develop and maintain Aldar's ESG risk register and inform the strategy about the status of these risks. This includes the identification, evaluation, monitoring and reporting of all major risks and compliance issues that could impact Aldar
- Support regular internal and external sustainability reporting via the provision of consistent and credible ESG data and ESG-focused narrative as related to ESG risks and data performance
- Collaborate with internal teams to bridge the ESG data and disclosure gap
- Ensure the monitoring of the compliance level to relevant laws, regulations and standards related to the function
- Lead ESG data assurance with the assurance provider and the internal data owners.
- support the development of Aldar's ESG policies, in line with the leading practices and the ESG ratings most relevant to the company
- Identify the appropriate sustainability certifications Aldar should pursue, and ensure those certifications are attained at the most advantageous cost possible. Initiate and manage corrective actions as needed.
Qualification And Experience
RELATED YEAR OF EXPERIENCE
Min of 6+ years of experience in sustainability management
Sector Experience
- Real estate sector, construction or consulting
- Demonstrated experience in project management, from concept to completion
Technical And Interpersonal Skills
- Strong knowledge in sustainability techniques and methods
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and reporting processes related to ESG and Risk management
- Knowledge about global best practices and advanced areas of thought leadership
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, required for one-to-one communication, delivering presentations and for conflict and dispute resolution
- Excellent writing skills for the preparation of complex strategies and technical reports
- Ability to create visual representations of data and progress
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in a related filed including sustainability, environmental policy, management, or engineering
