Job Description
SAFETY
Ensure all planned preventive and corrective maintenance and breakdown response activities are executed safely with the aim of reducing risks to as low as reasonably possible.
Ensure the safety of all technicians and contractors working within the terminal, leading by example in their own behaviors and practices.
Ensure all buildings, facilities and infrastructure under their responsibility are maintained in accordance with local legislation and standards specified by APMT global functions.
PERFORMANCE
Ensure all preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and inspection activities are completed efficiently based on calendar, operating hours, condition etc.
Ensure breakdowns are managed effectively based on their priority.
Ensure KPIs and budgets for facilities maintenance and any projects execution are met for buildings and infrastructure under their responsibility
Ensure all building and infrastructure KPIs and measures are correctly recorded and reported as required.
Continuously benchmark and coordinate contractors that execute planned maintenance or projects of the buildings and infrastructure.
Provide an issue reporting and management system.
STRATEGY
Ensure maintenance strategies are developed for all buildings and infrastructure under the responsibility of the Facilities & Infrastructure Manager, including all minimum requirements specified by Global Asset Maintenance.
Lead the continuous review and improvement of building and infrastructure maintenance strategies under their ownership.
ASSET INTEGRITY
Accountable for ensuring the integrity of all buildings and infrastructure under their ownership, considering the age of buildings and infrastructure, through development and execution of appropriate preventive, predictive and inspection activities
Manage a risk-based approach to pending corrective maintenance, considering the compounded risk to safety and operation through multiple failures or defects
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Ensure the most efficient use of their team to ensure work is planned accurately and scheduled realistically.
Manage contracts for outsourcing of services or specialist activities as required.
Manage critical spare parts required for buildings and infrastructure under their ownership.
PEOPLE/COMMUNICATIONS
Ensure their team have all necessary skills and competencies required to perform their normal duties.
Develop the skills and competencies of their team members, taking into account succession planning and career progression where relevant.
Ensure suppliers and contractors have the capabilities required for assigned tasks.
COST MANAGEMENT
Develop budgets for all planned preventive and corrective maintenance for buildings and infrastructure under their control.
Proactively track and manage cost of maintenance for buildings and infrastructure, intervening when costs escalate and identify ways to reduce costs.
Desired Candidate Profile
Profile:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Minimum 10 years experience in construction preferably in a marine ports or terminals environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Experience in a strong service oriented, stakeholder-management focused environment.
Understanding of Building and infrastructure maintenance planning metrics, principles, its processes and requirements.
Practical, planning and work scheduling capabilities, ready to improve and challenge the status quo.
Structured, driven, self-motivating, and result orientated.
Highly disciplined following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
High quality awareness and ability to work with constant care.
Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment, with respect to employees, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Strong communication skills and ability to influence.
English language fluency.
