Job Description
Morgan Consulting Engineers are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our consulting engineering firm for an upcoming project. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with a primary focus on supervising construction activities. This role will involve ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations during the construction phase.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets required standards and specifications.
- Review and approve construction methods and materials, ensuring they align with project requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permits and approvals as required by local authorities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates on site progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Address on-site challenges efficiently and effectively to minimize project delays.
- Identify potential issues or risks during construction and develop strategies for mitigation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with a focus on site supervision and construction management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
- Proven track record in supervising civil or structural projects, including commercial, residential, or infrastructure works.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
