Responsible for a range of duties including negotiating contract terms, preparing contracts, evaluating bids, and researching current regulations. Drafting and editing contracts, demonstrating excellent attention to detail abilities. possess in-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements, and legal terminology.
Serves as a primary point of liaison with contractors, monitors existing contracts for compliance with terms and conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate contract agreements for products and services.
- assess contractor performance to identify the need for amendments of existing contracts.
- Prepare and edit contracts between the company and potential clients.
- Handle breach of contracts in a timely manner.
- Serve as the main liaison with outside contracting representatives.
- Develop and implement effective procurement proposals.
- Research regulations to guarantee contracts are updated and in compliance with laws.
- Coordinate with clients to guarantee terms of contracts are fulfilled in compliance with the contract terms and regulations.
- Evaluates or monitors contractor performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
- Continually monitors and evaluates contractor performance against contract specifications and recommends appropriate remedial action as necessary.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- May assist and/or provide input into the formulation, development, and/or revision of operating policies, procedures, and strategies for the organization, as appropriate.
- Perform related work as required and other tasks by direct manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law or relevant field.
- Relevant training programs.
- 3 - 5 years in a in a similar role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms and the client's best interests.
- Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of contractor compliance issues and procedures, as applicable to a public institution.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Communication skills.
- Computer skills in MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
