Our success is driven by data, and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Data Engineering Lead to build and lead a high-performing team focused on creating a unified data platform for our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and implementing a modern data architecture.
- Design and build a unified data lake, data warehouse, and analytics layer to consolidate data from core payment systems, biometric identity systems, enterprise applications, and value-added services.
- Select, implement, and manage modern data platform technologies like Snowflake, cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Integrate streaming data pipelines using Apache Kafka or similar tools to ensure real-time data ingestion.
- Develop and implement data quality processes and standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Build and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline data engineering processes.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies in the data engineering landscape.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure data security and compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree a plus).
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role with a focus on big data and data warehousing.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of data engineers.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling techniques, and data governance best practices.
- Expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake, AWS, or Azure would be a strong plus.
- Experience with open-source technologies like Apache Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Technologies & Skills (Optional, but Beneficial)
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques (e.g., Data Vault, Kimball, etc.).
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
- Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2).
- Programming languages: SQL, Python, Scala, Java.
- Knowledge and experience of financial and payment industries
