In this role, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline, which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Review concept, preliminary and detailed designs submitted by consultants and provide comments and closure of comments.
- Follow up with consultants and contractors for the necessary data to feed Client requirements.
- Review utilities demand calculation sheets for larger / Mega infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with Client and third parties, calculations, plans, design, and layout, project specifications
- Perform design/analyses calculations related to wet utilities such as irrigation (Primary, secondary & Tertiary), potable water, sewer, storm water, force mains, subsurface drainage networks using governing engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
- Updating / enhancing the hydraulic models received from various consultants.
- General knowledge on Dry utilities for interface
- Able to create and review utilities corridors plan and sections
- General Arrangements, Layouts, plans & profiles.
- Research and prepare design options and documents
- Review shop drawings.
- Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
- Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Knowledge on BIM
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- Preparation of RFPs
- Support in tender review
- Collaboration and working as part of a team
- Work in conjunction with peer engineers to overcome project design challenges Liaise with other discipline teams and/or teams working remotely from other regions to facilitate completion of project tasks Liaise with consultants and sub-contractors to facilitate completion of project tasks
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
- Adhere to Project Quality procedures and Health & Safety procedures.
- Organize and attend meetings with clients, consultants and contractors to collect data and discuss technical solutions and options
- Attend meetings with Authorities, stakeholders, consultants and follow up on NOCs
- Other duties as required from time to time
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with extensive knowledge in engineering software's.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years experience of infrastructure utilities design particularly water, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation networks with progressively increasing responsibility.
- At least 2 years as a wet utilities designer with some responsibility for supervision / Project Management of design.
- Experience of building network models using EPANET, SewerGems, WaterGems, InfoSWMM and similar hydraulic design software.
- Previous experience in BIM & ArcGIS (ESRI) is preferable.
- Extensive and knowledgeable computer skills (AutoCAD).
- Good spoken and written English is essential.
