Job Summary:

The Senior Engineer, PIMS/P (Process Information Management System/Platform), is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the PIMS/P system within the organization. This role focuses on managing process data, optimizing data collection and analysis, and ensuring the efficient operation of the PIMS/P platform. The Senior Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, provides technical expertise, and plays a key role in enhancing process efficiency, data visibility, and decision-making capabilities..

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design and Implementation:

Design, configure, and implement the Process Information Management System/Platform (PIMS/P) to collect, store, and analyze process data from various sources within the organization.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including process engineers, operations personnel, and IT teams, to understand data requirements and translate them into PIMS/P system specifications.

• Data Management and Integration:

Develop and maintain data models, hierarchies, and interfaces within the PIMS/P system to ensure accurate and reliable data collection and integration.

Configure real-time data acquisition systems, including historians and data loggers, to capture and store process data for further analysis and reporting.

Collaborate with IT teams to integrate the PIMS/P system with other operational systems, such as distributed control systems (DCS), laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

• Data Quality and Validation:

Develop and implement data validation and quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data stored in the PIMS/P system.

• Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve issues related to data collection, storage, and retrieval within the PIMS/P system.

• Data Analysis and Reporting:

Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools to provide insights into process performance and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

• Process Optimization:

Collaborate with process engineers and operations personnel to identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings based on data analysis and trends.

• Continuous Learning and Innovation:

Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and advancements in PIMS/P systems and data analytics and recommend innovative solutions for process improvement.

• Training and Documentation:

Develop and deliver training programs and documentation to educate end-users on the functionality and usage of the PIMS/P system.

• Project Participation:

Participate in projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and integration, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.

• Compliance and Security:

Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures within the PIMS/P system.

• Vendor and Partner Collaboration:

Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate and select PIMS/P software, hardware, and data analytics tools, ensuring compatibility and optimal system performance.

• Culture and Collaboration:

Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in PIMS/P system design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of process data management and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with data visualization tools and real-time data acquisition systems.
• Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations.
