Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years of UAE work experience in Marine, Oil & Gas as a cost estimator.
Must have worked with the Marine, oil, and gas industries in the UAE.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office apps and Software, especially advanced Excel skills
Fully understands price implications of taxes, bonds, warranties and guarantees and other local legislation;
Detailed knowledge of Risk Analysis & management tools;
Analyzing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation to estimate costs
Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Analyzing data that can affect costs (such as currency exchange rates and the companys productivity rates)
Assessing the financial, technical, and operational risks of the project
Visiting project sites to gather information
Staying aware of the latest equipments technologies
Keeping up to date with the latest regulatory and legislative requirements
Working closely with key members of the project team and liaising with clients and suppliers
Keeping detailed records and writing reports
