What Can You Expect

The Regional FINPRO team in DIFC is a multinational/multicultural team responsible for the development, placement and servicing of FINPRO business throughout the MENA region.

The team collaborates with colleagues from Marsh's regional organization, its extensive retail network and other global FINPRO hubs to provide specialist client servicing capabilities, world-class product solutions and access to local/regional markets.

The Senior FINPRO Broker will be responsible for advisory and placement of a client's risk within the (re)insurance and risk marketplace to ensure that we retain existing business and support network for new wins for our challenging growth targets. The role requires enhanced technical knowledge, strong negotiation skills to obtain the best terms, conditions, coverage, and pricing for a client from the reinsurance market and excellent communication skills to liaise with the network and present our terms and make recommendations to clients and prospects.

We will rely on you to:

  • Strong engagement with retail teams across MENA for both predominantly focused on new business to:
    • Providing strategic input in the sales and planning process
    • Collecting risk information and underlying coverage requirements
    • Presenting the terms and comparative analysis to the client/client-facing colleagues
    • Be responsible for the execution of the placement strategy
    • Place the risk with the short-listed reinsurers by client instructions in a timely fashion and manage clients expectations
    • Provide final closing documentation
    • Identify and drive sales opportunities to grow the FINPRO portfolio in conjunction with regional and global teams including cross-sell
    • Focus on ReInsurance/Fac Re opportunities from UAE, KSA, GCC, MENA and beyond
    • Identify the need for new products and develop innovative solutions for clients
    • Lead the coordination of organizational resources necessary to drive a sale to completion
    • Consult management/practice / retail team on highly complex client issues or claims and develop clear and concise communication and drive the development of solutions for excellent client service

    What you need to have:

    • Relevant college/university degree preferable but not essential
    • 5+ years of experience in insurance/reinsurance preferably in broking
    • Good technical knowledge in reinsurance of Financial and Professional Lines products (i.e Directors and Officers Liability, Professional Indemnity, Commercial Crime, Bankers Blanket Bond, Specie products..)
    • Ability to read and analyse financial statements
    • Growth mindset with a sales focus
    • Strong work ethics
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical thinking ability
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • No travel restrictions across the region (and globally)
    • Fluent in English (both verbally and in writing)

    • Previous work/experience with Financial Institutions
    • Previous work/experience specifically providing insurance or risk solutions to Financial Institutions
    • 5+ years of Financial and Professional Lines broking experience in a multinational company
    • Diverse background to understand clients needs beyond FINPRO's perspective.
    • Client management experience
    • UAE/DIFC Financial Lines market exposure
    • Access to global markets
    • Ability to communicate in Arabic/Turkish/French (both verbally and in writing) is a plus
