Dar is seeking to recruit a horticulturist to support the team of landscape architects.

The successful candidate will work on a broad range of exciting Middle East landscape projects and form a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, to whom they will collaborate closely with.

The role will involve working within the landscape team and liaising with all the international offices.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to provide planting design layouts and detailed schedule of species.
• Extensive plant knowledge (Especially to Middle/Gulf countries).
• Nursery design and site operations expertise.
• Assist in environmental assessments and studies.
• Knowledge of forestry and woodland management.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures.
• Liaising and collaborating with landscape architects and designers, providing planting ideas from concept through to detailed design.
• Reviewing softworks drawings produced by others.
• Review and produce specifications.
• Produce planting implementation strategies and maintenance plans.
• Ability to lead and manage horticulture led tasks and projects.

Requirements:

• A minimum 12 years experience.
• A relevant qualification.
• Middle East experience or plant knowledge is essential.
• Excellent writing, speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
• Good time management ability to prioritize and multi-task; punctuality; working efficiently and with a good idea of how long each task takes to complete.
• Leadership and project management skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and to maintaining up-to-date knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Operating and working with CAD/Revit
• Arboricultural and forestry knowledge
• Experience working on large scale projects, preferably in the Middle East.
