About The Role
The Gleeds business in Africa has enjoyed much success and growth in recent years, and we are lookingto recruit Senior HSE Engineer with experience in construction projects in one or more of the following sectors.[
Industrial Projects, OR
Top notch residential, OR
Hospitality, OR
shopping malls].
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and address unsafe conditions.
- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure client-specific safety standards are integrated into project execution, including customized risk assessments and protocols.
- Deliver training and guidance to staff and contractors on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations to identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
- Work closely with engineers, operations teams, and management to apply engineering controls and protective measures.
- Manage and update safety documentation, such as manuals, incident reports, and safety records.
- Provide guidance to departments on implementing safety standards, regulatory compliance, and company policies.
- Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and advancements in health and safety technology.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations.
About The Candidate
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NEBOSH, and other safety certifications is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in high-pressure environments.
