Position Overview:
The Senior Import will be responsible for overseeing all import shipment processes, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining accurate records of all import entries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in trade companies, strong communication and negotiation skills, and expertise in transportation and customs procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an efficient interface to resolve all import shipment issues, including customs clearance, transportation delays, and documentation errors.
- Perform all record-keeping processes and maintain accurate records of all import entries, including customs documentation, shipping manifests, and import permits.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of international and domestic shipment paperwork, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including logistics, procurement, and sales teams, to ensure on-time shipment of goods in response to customer orders.
- Utilize NAFZA system and other relevant software to manage import processes and track shipment status.
- Oversee the shipment of well-packaged, on-time shipments in compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular audits of import records and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with import regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other external partners to streamline import processes and reduce costs.
- Train and mentor junior import staff on import procedures, documentation requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
- Experience years from 5 to 8 years in Trade companies.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in transportation and customs expertise.
- Experience in in NAFZA system.
- Possesses strong analytical skills and have experience in handling Proficient.
- Should be fluent in English and computer.
- Overall responsibility for shipment of well-packaged, on-time shipment in response to purchasing orders
- Experience in processing international and domestic shipment paperwork & handling required.
- Must be proficient in the use of current software, Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint),
- Able to read and comprehend technical documents, follow instructions, and learn and understand office procedures.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, written/verbal communication skills and be able to pay close attention to detail.
