Responsibilities:

As Senior Lead Drilling Engineer your responsibilities will include:


Support Health Safety and Environment and pro-actively align project objectives with HSE objective.
Contribute to Operational Excellence and Performance System
Ensure that all proposed engineering solutions meet all applicable regulations and standards
Possess an understanding of various groups within the company and help direct interaction between them and Reservoir Solutions Well Engineering
Keep knowledge and skills up to date in constantly evolving industry and follow up on new developments relevant to drilling and well engineering
Provide visibility for Reservoir Solutions Well Engineering in the industry through helping team members participate in SPE conferences, workshops, and forums as well as co-authoring technical papers preferably with operators
Help develop strategy for global commercial success of Well Engineering
Lead drilling engineering technology developments including OneSync
Planning by helping team determine requirements and recommend new features
Provide support for internal developments such as Drilling Advisor and OneSync Monitoring
Lead trainer and expert user on OneSync Planning for Well Engineering team members
Lead validation of OneSync Planning software to allow replacing external programs
Advise teams on drilling engineering aspects of ongoing projects and prospective new projects
Assist team in writing technical papers and preparing / giving technical presentations
Help identify opportunities for RSWE to submit abstracts, attend conferences and other technical meetings outside Weatherford, and present our work to local technical meetings
Develop and implement formal internal peer review for Well Engineering projects
Provide pathways to transfer technology to other Weatherford groups

Qualifications:

Essential:


Bachelors degree in engineering or related field from an accredited University (or diploma/certificate with relevant work experience as described below)
10 years related experience in multiple aspects of Life of Well. Primary areas include Geology, Reservoir, Drilling, Completions, Workovers, Production, Well Abandonment, etc
Ability to resolve highly complex technical issues and conduct advanced research
Ability to organize and plan projects
Practical and results orientated to deliver a plan encompassing all inputs that can be safely executed.
Mechanical aptitude and strong visualization capability required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with diverse professionals comprising of clients, stakeholders, vendors, operations team, rig team and engineering peers
Contribute to sustaining a positive, progressive, and supportive team environment.
Saudi national essential due to Saudization

Preferred:


Gas experience would be advantage
