Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Content Development: Conceptualize, develop, and curate compelling content for the
magazine, ensuring alignment with the publication's theme, target audience, and
editorial guidelines.
Editing and Proofreading: Edit and proofread articles, features, and other written
content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the magazine's style and tone.
Layout Design: Collaborate with graphic designers to produce visually appealing
layouts and designs for magazine pages, considering typography, imagery, and overall
aesthetics.
Writer Management: Supervise a team of writers, contributors, and freelance
journalists, assigning topics, providing feedback, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Research and Fact-Checking: Conduct thorough research on assigned topics, verify
facts, and ensure that all content is well-researched, credible, and accurate.
Publication Coordination: Coordinate with printing vendors, photographers, illustrators,
and other external stakeholders to ensure timely production and delivery of the
magazine.
Digital Presence: Oversee the digital presence of the magazine, including website
content, social media updates, and online publication distribution.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor publications, and
reader preferences to inform content strategy and maintain the magazine's relevance
and competitiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field (preferred
but not required).
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an editorial or similar role in magazine
publishing.
Proficiency in English and Arabic languages.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong creative vision and the ability to generate innovative ideas for magazine content
and design.
Familiarity with layout design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or
Illustrator.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in
a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate
effectively with writers, designers, and other team members.
Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to quality and accuracy.
Knowledge of SEO principles and digital publishing platforms is advantageous.
