Job Description
The role is responsible for maintaining the companys database systems using different tools like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events, and documentation. He/she takes care of company databases so that information is stored securely and needs to ensure that these people can access the information they need at the times they need it and that it is in the format they need.
Responsibilities
- Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end users specialized role
- Design and implement a database by end users information needs and views
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in the appropriate format and promptly
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
- Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution
Years & Nature of Experience
- Would have 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience where required competencies and experience has been demonstrated
- A specialist individual contributor or a team lead who has managed and delivered projects
- Has team or technical supervision skills
- Demonstrated expertise and experience with complex technical activities
- Has worked with more senior staff and dealt with complex issues, larger clients, accounts, projects, or internal relationships.
