JOB PURPOSE
This role is responsible in facilitating communication and coordination between various departments including the Chartering Manager, Freight Operations team, Commodity Scheduling team, and other internal stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support chartering activities in accordance with the corporate strategy, including trade capture, trade entry, and amendments of contractual data using main company Freight Platform (IMOS by VESON).
- Maintain daily updates of department filing to ensure accurate and organized documentation.
- Assist with pre-fixing formalities such as Charterparty agreements and post-fixing activities including usage of Sea/Contracts (ex Chinsay).
- Maintain close coordination with legal to ensure that all clauses in Charterparty agreements remain up to date and compliant with evolving legal regulations, industry best practices and changes in the operating environment of the logistics team.
- Create, understand, and maintain DATA for various purposes, including data analysis and reporting.
- Analyse logistics data to identify areas of improvement and automate reports using Microsoft based dashboards such as Power BI(s).
- Work closely with commodity teams to ensure that freight activities align with commodity trading strategies and objectives (forecasting / planning / scheduling) EGA HUMAN CAPITAL PROCEDRUE EGA/HC/GEN.05.03.F02 Page 2 of 3
- Keep track of positions of freight contracts and cargoes throughout the day, ensuring updated information on Laycans / Ports / Quantities reflected in main Freight Platform, and adhering by nomination deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain a list of open cargoes, ensuring a thorough comprehension of freight cover allocation under COAs or short-term fixing strategies, including FOB / CFR split(s).
- Support the implementation of core application enhancements and process deployments, collaborating with IT teams and other stakeholders.
- Provide timely updates and reports to management regarding chartering activities and performance metrics.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating more complex issues to the Chartering Manager as needed.
- Undertake ad hoc project work as assigned by the Chartering Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies
- Min 5 years of relevant working experience
- Excellent understanding of chartering, commercial aspects, and legal risks
- Good interpersonal, numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent understanding and skills in Microsoft Office, IMOS, AXS Marine
