Responsibilities:
- Design various types of pavements (Flexible, Rigid, Interlocking Pavement Block, Natural Stone Setts and Slabs) based on international standards such as AASHTO, Austroads, USACE, and local country codes.
- Utilize both Finite Element Modelling and Empirical Design Methods.
- Prepare scope of works and tender documents for Pavement Assessment Testing Programs for existing pavements of roadways, airfields, and other infrastructure projects. Conduct detailed evaluations of structural and functional conditions for pavement rehabilitation design.
- Develop BIM models for pavements, with proficiency in Civil 3D, REVIT, and NAVISWORKS.
- Create pavement design drawings, including layouts, cross sections, jointing and connection details, and relevant tender documents (Specifications, Method of Measurement, and BOQ).
- Compile pavement design reports, pavement assessment and evaluation reports, and related technical presentations.
- Coordinate within and outside the department to provide technical support on pavement design-related works.
- Design airfield pavements according to international aviation standards (FAA, ICAO, UK M.O.D.).
- Design sea and/or land port pavements according to standards from the British Port Association, European PIANC, and other relevant bodies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Pavement Design for Infrastructure Projects (Roads, Airports, Ports, and Industrial Floors).
- Very good command of the English language.
- Experience in designing both new pavement structures and evaluating/rehabilitating existing pavements.
- Basic knowledge of geotechnical design.
- Familiarity with pavement construction materials specifications (aggregates, asphalt mixes, polymer modifications, concrete mixes, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in civil engineering or B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, M. Tech. in Pavement or Geotechnical Engineering.
