Job Summary:
The Senior Planning Engineer will oversee the planning and scheduling of multiple large-scale residential and housing development projects at NHC. This role requires advanced project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple timelines, resources, and deliverables simultaneously. The Senior Planning Engineer will coordinate across teams to ensure all projects are on schedule, within scope, and meeting quality and cost expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Multiple Project Schedules: Develop and maintain comprehensive schedules for multiple concurrent housing and real estate development projects, ensuring timelines are met for all.
- Project Monitoring & Control: Track the progress of multiple projects, providing updates on schedule adherence, resource usage, and identifying potential delays across different projects.
- Resource Allocation Across Projects: Work closely with project managers and teams to optimize resource allocation across multiple projects, ensuring the efficient use of labor, materials, and time.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with overlapping project timelines and competing priorities, ensuring project continuity and on-time delivery.
- Coordination Across Teams: Facilitate communication between construction teams, design teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure progress across all projects.
- Multi-Project Reporting: Prepare consolidated reports detailing the progress, risks, and budget adherence of all projects, providing insights to senior management on overall portfolio health.
- Change Management Across Projects: Review and manage changes in scope or schedule that affect any of the ongoing projects, assessing their impact on overall resource planning and timelines.
- Software Utilization: Use planning software (such as Primavera P6 or MS Project) to track multiple project timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Budget Coordination: Work closely with the cost control team to manage budgets across multiple projects, identifying any variances or potential overruns.
- Contractor & Vendor Management: Ensure that contractors and vendors adhere to timelines across all projects, resolving any delays or issues that may affect multiple schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to multi-project scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in project planning, with significant experience in managing multiple large-scale residential or real estate development projects.
- Certifications: PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar planning software. Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Project Knowledge: Extensive experience with construction methodologies and managing complex schedules across multiple projects in the housing or real estate sector.
- Communication: Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different projects.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to manage conflicting priorities, timelines, and resources across multiple projects.
