Job Description
Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented
Senior Project Control Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to
develop, implement, and maintain cost control, and/or provide planning function on one or more major projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the project management in developing the baseline budget (resource/revenue/cost) with appropriate WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) interfacing with various disciplines and in coordination with the Project Manager and Scheduler.
- Analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report cost status against the established baseline in collaboration with the planning team.
- Prepares/updates various weekly and monthly cost tracking reports.
- Work closely with project teams to establish monthly and quarterly resource, revenue, and cost projections for projects.
- Performs variance analysis against the baseline projections and follows up on the initiatives and recommended corrective actions and reports to management.
- Utilizes historical data and trends for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
- Monitors, tracks and reports on KPIs like projects revenue, costs, billings, collections progress and performs Earned Value Analysis, Net Assets Value etc. Participate in the monthly & quarterly reviews and support the project team in explaining the variances and justifications.
- Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex cost control problem.
- Supports the Project Director in reviewing and finalizing the business plan.
- Customizes project control systems reports to meet specific project requirements.
- May interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and provide statistical reports.
- Coordinating with other Departments to ensure that all costs are properly charged on jobs and project cost control person has full visibility.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, finance or related field from an accredited university/ institution is required.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of related work experience in projects controls, invoice review, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting of mega engineering construction or entertainment construction project is required.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English is required.
- Proficient PC skills in MS Office (Advance Excel skills) & Power BI is required.
- Proven ability and leadership skills to perform in a management capacity.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Professional degrees like CA, CPA, CIMA or ACCA is highly desirable.
- A track record with PMC and Main Contractors would be a suitable background.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry practices and standards.
