Job Summary
We are seeking a Sr. Operations Engineer who has a strong Refinery and chemicals background to join Refinery to Chemicals (RTC) Division of the LTC Business & Project Development Department to perform optimization of the refinery and chemicals sites integration study; evaluation and selection of licensors for refinery complex, Mixed Feed Steam Cracker, Petrochemical derivatives, C4+ co-products and pygas based Aromatics Complex while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. The Division is primarily responsible for RTC Project Development under This Company In- Kingdom Liquids to Chemicals Program (IK LTC) and drive the development of project assessment, and the delivery of project requirements through FEL I, FEL II and FEL III (Project life cycle). Sr. Operations Engineer will be part of the Project Development & Technology team reporting to the Manager and work closely with others.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and screen a range of technology options for the Baseline Configuration.
Align the level of detail and sources for technology input needed for LP, opex, and major considerations for facilities scope.
Review the details and inputs for technology options and outputs from the LP model, including process yields, qualities, opex, etc.
Define the Process technology road map and establish a timeline for engaging with technology licensors/providers.
Outline Pre-FEED/FEED plans and deliverables related to the facility design basis.
Lead the evaluation of technology options and the screening process.
Participate in required hazard studies and analyses such as HAZOP.
Provide technical inputs on the selected technologies and sensitivity cases.
Identify opportunities for third-party involvement.
Liaise with third-party vendors/suppliers to gather relevant information.
Requirements:
This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Successful candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the Refining & Chemicals business with a focus on integration.
Strong background in Refinery operations and technical knowledge.
Experience in Refinery-Chemicals integration, understanding the interplay between the two sectors.
Proficiency in analyzing process yields and qualities.
Understanding of economics and capital efficiency in the Refining & Chemicals industry.
Previous involvement in Refinery capital projects, particularly in Pre-FEED/FEED development stages.
Knowledge of molecule optimization and synergy integration.
Ability to execute projects and demonstrate commercial understanding.
Familiarity with technical interface management and coordination.
Business development background, including identifying and pursuing opportunities.
