Profile
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team as Commercial Manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on airports, infrastructure, commercial buildings, municipal infrastructure, or commercial property. This role requires a deep understanding of cost management, project control, and financial analysis within these sectors. As a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading and managing quantity surveying activities on major projects, ensuring that all financial aspects are accurately controlled and reported.
Key Responsibilities may include but not limited to: -
- Lead and manage quantity surveying activities for major projects in the specified sectors.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis to support project decision-making.
- Manage procurement processes, including tender preparation, evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Oversee the measurement and valuation of works, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and change control processes.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in quantity surveying, with significant experience in airports, infrastructure, commercial buildings, municipal infrastructure, or commercial property.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, contract administration, and procurement processes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and complex financial aspects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CostX, Excel, MS Project).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
