Job Description
The Otolaryngology Senior Registrar/Specialist (ENT Senior Registrar/Specialist) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care through telehealth consultations. This individual will leverage their extensive expertise in otolaryngology to diagnose and manage a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions remotely, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction
Patient Consultations and Management
- Conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations via thorough patient history and physical examinations with patients experiencing ear, nose, and throat issues
- Utilize video conferencing platforms to assess patient symptoms, review medical history, and perform virtual examinations. Develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient education
- Provide comprehensive virtual consultations to patients with a wide range of otolaryngological conditions, including:
- Ear, nose, and throat infections
- Sinus problems
- Hearing loss
- Dizziness and balance disorders
- Voice disorders
- Sleep apnea
- Head and neck cancers
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals to specialists, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, specialists, and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care
- Practice population health management by identifying and addressing health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear and concise explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care
- Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for telehealth practice
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telehealth regulations and best practices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and document patient encounters accurately
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and clinical audits to enhance patient care and outcomes
Professional Development
- Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills in otolaryngology and telehealth best practices
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and online courses. Stay abreast of advancements in ENT medicine and telehealth technology
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in otolaryngology and telehealth technology
Telehealth Platform Proficiency
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain proficiency in utilizing the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and electronic health records (EHR) integration
- Actively participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements and best practices. Collaborate with IT support to troubleshoot any technical issues
Skills
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
