About the Role
As the Senior Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of faculty, staff, and students in our research labs and surroundings. Working closely with lab managers, researchers, and the EHS team, you will develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, training and overseeing safety programs to ensure compliance, reduce risks, and promote a safe culture for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee lab safety protocols and implement risk management practices.
- Conduct routine lab inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs for lab safety and emergency response.
- Maintain and update safety documentation and records.
- Serve as a resource for researchers on safety regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in lab safety management, preferably in a research or academic setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, SASO, ISO, and other relevant safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
