The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for establishing new accounts and services by identifying potential customers, and sales channels. They are also responsible for planning and organizing sales calls, creating and developing sales strategies to increase the overall sales revenue of different products. The job also entitles preparing sales reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Provides product, service, equipment technical and engineering information to customers by answering questions and requests.
- Establishes new accounts and services by identifying potential customers and sales channels through planning and organizing sales calls and meetings.
- Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
- Identifies current and future consumer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and existing customers.
- Creates and develops sales strategies and plans to increase the overall sales revenue of different products by targeting the correct type of customers and staying up to date of market trends.
- Prepares cost estimates by studying customers requirements.
- Builds a professional customer database for targeting per territory and market segment.
- Analyzes cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, and service applications, and proposing plans for improvement when necessary.
- Works on all stages of sales calls, starting from cold calling new customers to arranging face to face meeting at customer site or office, and understanding customer requirement, in addition to creating proposals and quotations to meet customer requirements, and following up and closing the sale.
- Continuously seeks and maintains knowledge on products, markets, applications, selling skills and services available to enhance the customer's experience.
- Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and recommending solutions and course of actions.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, employees, and other business stakeholders at all levels especially sales related transactions.
- Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
- Prepares weekly and monthly financial and non-financial report to General Manager.
- Achieves sales visits target in line with the approved budget for the business.
Position Requirements
Work Experience
- A minimum of 4-6 years professional experience in industry sales.
- Solid technical background with understanding and hands-on experience in Heavy Vehicles, Machinery and Equipment's.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
