Senior Site Manager - ( Structural Steel) various opportunities across the UK

Are you a Site Manager with experience in planning and programming of steel work (and associated packages) installation, looking for your next role where you can utilise your expertise of steel structures. If so, Murphy Group are keen to hear from you. As a Site Manager you will provide site-based leadership for all structural steel installations, promoting Health & Safety management and best practice, reporting in to the Project Manager.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Planning and programming of steel work (and associated packages) installation
  • Day to Day management of various projects, direction and co-ordination of all site activities including manageing sub-contractors, with a particular focus on health and safety, planning,
  • On-site management and control of the company's site operations, both of in-house and sub-contracted activities
  • Day-to-day monitoring, recording and documentation of the company's site activities including compilation of site progress reports
  • Preparation of risk assessments, method statements, site programmes and weekly tracker reports.
  • Co-ordinating the structural steel package from initial concept stage through the construction and completion phases.
  • Ensure Senior Management are keep updated with site progress and commercial issues.
  • Plan and deliver all site works, ensuring project is completed on time and to the agreed standard.
  • Monitor progress periodically against the project plan and monitor expenditure, resolving issues but may escalate critical operational issues to the Project Manager (if a larger site).
  • Line management of Murphy team and sub-contractors

Who We Are Looking For

  • Must have strong knowledge of steel structures and operations
  • Qualification in structural/civil/mechanical engineering with knowledge of the steel industry.
  • Experience in the erection of the steel structures and operations
  • Appointed Person for Lifting Operations
  • The ability to prioritise multiple concurrent projects under stringent time, quality and budgetary constraint
  • Ideally working knowledge of BIM packages such as Tekla and StruWalker thsi would be an advantage
  • Happy to travel across the UK, to support all Murphy projects ,expenses and lodge/ hotels provided
  • Valid Safe Pass & Manual Handling
  • Full Driving License
