The International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university in Kuwait, with a new Campus located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to the academic programs, the IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Math foundation programs.
IUK is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Student Life Senior Specialist to join our Student Affairs Department.
Position Summary
The primary role of the Student Life Senior Specialist is to provide support in the management of student life activities with the aim of creating the best university experience for IUK students. In this position, you will work to enhance student life experience in all facets including, but not limited to, student events, sports centers, clubs and volunteering activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Student Life's strategic objectives and initiatives.
- Support with the development and implementation of Student Life policies, procedures and processes and monitor compliance of subordinates.
- Collaborate with Student Affairs to manage the implementation of student orientation programs within the campus with the aim of familiarizing new students with the campus and enabling students, faculty, and staff relationship.
- Support the Student Affairs to manage the communication of student tools including, but not limited to, student handbooks.
- Monitor the implementation of student programs and events at the community level including, but not limited to, volunteering activities, sports events, entertainment events, receptions, etc.
- Coordinate special events at the campus level including, but not limited to, National Day celebrations, graduation ceremonies, etc.
- Provide support and guidance to the Student Council and other student groups/clubs as and when needed.
- Oversee the effective and efficient collaboration between Student Life and Student Affairs by providing data in a timely and accurate manner for planning, budgeting, and consolidation purposes.
- Monitor the effective and efficient transportation arrangement of commuting students and/or for field trips related to the campus.
- Oversee the effective and efficient collaboration between Student Life and Institutional Research for data sharing and analysis as and when needed.
- Communicate the annual Student Life calendar in a timely manner in collaboration with Student Affairs.
- Support with the development and analysis of system-wide student surveys to identify room for improvement.
- Oversee campus events including recreational, educational, cultural, and business events.
- Any other duties and tasks related to the advancement of the Office based on the university needs.
- Ensure the implementation of the educational policy, student affairs mandate to ensure the integrity of student life.
- Ensure QA measures.
- Coach and mentor subordinates on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor degree from an accredited University, MBA preferred
- Professional Certificates are an asset
Experience
- Minimum 7 years work experience in Student Life or any related field, out of which at least 4 years is in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record in planning and supervising events.
