Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Structural Designer at ICPM in Cairo, Egypt. The Senior Structural Designer will be responsible for creating construction drawings, applying structural engineering principles, using computer-aided design (CAD) software, working on civil engineering projects, and specializing in steel design.
Qualifications & Responsabilities
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering or related field with minimum GPA good
- Have +10 years of experience as steel designer, detailing steel structure (tekla), ETABS, SAP 2000
- Demonstrated experience in a structural engineering role
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and diagrams
- Strong ability in drawing, designing, and creating diagrams, blueprints, and drawings
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
- Good report writing skills
- Strong manual dexterity
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize own time and workload
- Develop structural plans and designs, and drawings for other construction personnel to follow.
- Oversee the building and creation of structures and frames.
- Analyze and make changes to ongoing projects as they move onward to ensure the safety of structures being built.
- Work in line with local building codes, considering flooding, fire safety measures, and other variables such as wind tunnels and surface quality.
- Inspect and analyze existing buildings to determine their safety or viability to be made safe again.
- Make recommendations to close or demolish unsafe buildings if deemed unsafe to habitation or a risk to the local community.
- Make plans to renovate listed buildings that may need original restoration work.
- Work in line with health and safety guidelines.
