Job Purpose:
The Senior Survey Design Analyst is responsible for contributing in the assessment of GASTAT existing statistical surveys, participating in workshops to align on statistical production priorities, schedules, and surveys and tools to be build, designing new surveys, and documenting identified issues in pilot tests ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes in line with leading practices.
- Establish working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders
- Collect feedback from internal stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports directed to all relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of progress.
- Keep abreast of latest trends and best practices in international and regional statistical survey designs and implementation
- Collect and track reports from previous cycles and contribute in the assessment of GASTAT existing statistical surveys to identify gaps and issues (i.e., sampling techniques, survey design and implementation, CATI and CAPI collection, etc.)
- Participate in workshops with concerned GASTAT functions to align on statistical production priorities, schedules, and requirements.
- Participate in workshops with concerned GASTAT functions to discuss survey design requests and align on surveys and tools to be built or reused based on collection method (i.e., personal or telephone interviews, electronic or web questionnaires, etc.)
- Support in the development of survey implementation plan including required capabilities and data collection techniques
- Review existing questionnaire and surveys and implement modifications based on requests and / or pre-identified gaps and issues
- Identify suitable survey tools, conduct business analysis, and coordinate with concerned GASTAT functions as needed
- Design new surveys in line with survey design guidelines and procedures while taking into consideration survey sample size, target audience, and applicable questionnaire and options in line with communicated plans and requirements
- Draft letters and brochures to explain information for respondents (i.e., purpose of the survey, definitions, etc.)
- Conduct pilot tests and cognitive testing of questions in surveys to highlight issues in surveys and tools
- Prepare and support in training sessions for concerned GASTAT functions to enable and optimize data collection
- Assist survey common queries and issues and escalate complex matters to improve data collection activities and enhance statistical products quality
- Document identified issues and implement corrections in surveys and tools in line with requirements
Experience & Education:
2+ years of experience in a Survey Design field.
- Bachelor's degree in any related field.
