Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Officer to join our team. As a tax specialist, you'll be a key player, leveraging your expertise in VAT and Corporate Tax to ensure compliance, optimize our tax strategy and drive value creation. This role reports to the Head of Finance & Accounts and will require to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of transactions.
Main Accountabilities:
Tax Compliance & Filing: Meticulously prepare and manage VAT/Corporate Tax filings and compliance reports for multiple entities of the Group. Conduct complete management of VAT and Corporate Tax compliance tasks ensuring precise and prompt tax return submissions as well as maintain all tax and transfer pricing related documents in accordance with regulatory requirements. Manage withholding tax matters including reviewing contracts, ensuring proper withholding and filing of withholding tax returns.
Tax Risk Management: Identify potential tax risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Strategic Tax Planning: Partner with senior management to develop and execute tax strategies that align with our business goals. Your insights will be instrumental in minimizing tax liabilities while maximizing opportunities for tax optimization and savings. Help design and implement tax policies and strategies, and evaluate managerial processes to ensure compliance with relevant statutes and regulatory codes.
Audit Readiness: Prepare our tax records and documentation with military precision, ensuring they are audit-ready at all times. Act as the main point of contact for internal/external audit or an examination by regulatory authorities and ensure safeguarding our tax positions.
Tax Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on all tax matters including VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and Withholding Tax. From providing guidance on the tax implications and preparing impact analysis of business decisions to offering strategic recommendations for tax-efficient structures, your expertise will be invaluable in shaping our financial strategy.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance our tax processes, systems, and controls. By identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and risk mitigation, you'll help us stay ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving tax landscape.
Job Specifications:
A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a similar role in the UAE, KSA or Singapore, with a strong background in both VAT and Corporate Tax. Prior experience at a Big 4 or Tier 2 audit firm is highly preferred, providing you with the depth of knowledge and breadth of experience needed to excel in this role.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Professional qualifications such as CTA, ACCA, CPA or CA are strongly preferred, demonstrating your commitment to excellence in the field of taxation.
Proficiency in tax compliance software and ERP systems is essential, allowing you to efficiently manage tax data and extract valuable insights. Advanced Excel skills are also desirable, enabling you to perform complex tax calculations and analysis with ease.
Strong analytical skills are a must-have, enabling you to dissect complex tax issues, identify key trends, and develop innovative solutions. Your ability to think critically and solve problems will be critical to your success in this role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you'll be required to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders. Your negotiation skills and ability to build relationships and influence decision-making will be key to your effectiveness in this role.
