EMURGO Africa is an investment vehicle that also provides hands-on acceleration and incubation programs, with $100m having been earmarked for investments in Africa, where a key growth driver in the region is the use of lending and borrowing crypto services for daily life.

Background

EMURGO is establishing a new research division to shape the company's long-term vision and enhance our business and product strategies.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Business Research Analyst to lead this initiative. This role will involve conducting in-depth research ranging from technical blockchain advancements to market trends and competitor analysis. The insights generated will be instrumental in guiding our strategic decisions and supporting our business units while also contributing to valuable industry research papers.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead research initiatives from technical assessment to business-related research considering EMURGO's corporate strategy
• Design and execute studies to analyze market trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscapes in the blockchain sector.
• Collaborate with business heads and engineering teams to understand specific research needs and produce tailor-made reports and presentations that aid in strategic decision-making.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret both off-chain and on-chain data to generate actionable insights.
• Contribute to creating industry research papers to share with partners, clients, and the broader blockchain community.

What you bring to EMURGO:

• Deep knowledge of cryptocurrencies, blockchains, and the Web3 ecosystem.
• Experience working in the blockchain industry in a research-oriented role.
• Proven experience working with or indeed leading a small team of engineers, with a capacity to inspire and direct technical research efforts.
• Expertise in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing off-chain and on-chain data into comprehensive reports and presentations.
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to listen, convey complex ideas, and manage difficult conversations. Specifically, the role requires an ability to transpose technological language and concepts into layman's terms.
• The incumbent must be proficient in spoken and written English, as the main internal language of business, and sensitive to linguistic, as well as cultural, differences.
