The role
The Onsite Machinist cum Bolter is responsible for performing precision machining and controlled bolting tasks on-site, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to safety protocols. This role requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in challenging environments. Manage equipment database and maintain up to date certifications for all PPU kit. Responsible for equipment mechanical work (repair and maintenance) and generate maintenance reports and workshop asset register. Assist and coordinate equipment loadouts for projects and mobilization/demobilizations.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
- Conduct precision machining operations such as flange facing, drilling, boring, and milling
- Perform controlled bolting tasks, including hydraulic torquing and tensioning
- Ensure all machining and bolting activities meet specified tolerances and safety standards
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and execute tasks efficiently
- Manage onsite tasks and coordinate with other team members to ensure project timelines are met
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including measurements and any issues encountered
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced team members
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Equipment maintenance work; including repair and service
- Goods in and out register (along with complete workshop asset register)
- Maintenance logs and reports
- Coordinate with the Workshop and Support Services manager to ensure the smooth running of all PPU workshop-related activities
- Ensure the highest standards of safety and housekeeping
- EnerMech procedures and processes are adhered in relation to equipment and workshop practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as an onsite machinist and bolter
- Expertise in RTJ (Ring Type Joint) and RF (Raised Face) flange facing
- Experience in in-situ cold cutting
- Knowledge of machining and bolting techniques, including hydraulic and manual bolting
- Familiarity with safety protocols and industry standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in various environments, including offshore and industrial sites
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant certifications in machining and bolting (preferred)
- Precision machining and controlled bolting
