Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide overall direction for achieving functional objectives through effective leadership, setting individual and team objectives, managing performance, and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Mentor, coach, motivate, and challenge direct reports, fostering an environment that encourages professional growth, development, and enhancement of internal capabilities.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities, making informed decisions and taking prompt actions when necessary.
- Allocate work to direct reports, nominate them for training according to the bank's guidelines, conduct performance reviews, and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency.
- Oversee direct reports in their daily tasks, providing guidance, feedback, and counseling to ensure effective performance management.
- Provide informed recommendations for hiring, promotions, and other personnel actions to support departmental growth and efficiency.
- Ensure team members complete required training courses and that their performance is evaluated by their Line
Manager to measure the effectiveness of the training programs. Operational Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Relationship VPs and AVPs to enhance corporate relations, aiming to increase the bank's market share in mSME banking.
- Train, guide, and motivate team members, monitor and evaluate their performance periodically, and ensure coordinated departmental efforts to meet customer requirements and enhance compliance with standard operating protocols.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring that new relationships generate maximum revenue within an acceptable risk profile.
- Ensure that all relationships comply with bank regulations and policies.
- Manage relationships with existing and potential target mSME and Business Sector customers, coordinating with respective departments/units within the bank to prioritize the processing of customers needs.
- Supervise the identification of new sales/cross-sell opportunities, launch targeted sales efforts to generate revenue, and ensure coordination with the Director of Business Finance.
- Assist in providing solutions to customers banking product needs.
- Supervise the identification and selection of target partners for indirect financing.
- Develop a target penetration plan, negotiate terms with partner banks, and enter into MoUs with respective entities.
- Examine strategic financing applications submitted by clients, determine clients eligibility for loan types and amounts according to the financing guidelines set by the bank.
- Meet with applicants to address their financial and project development concerns, negotiate guarantees and collaterals, and conduct site tours.
- Assist prospective and existing clients by receiving all customer applications and effectively addressing their concerns and queries regarding financing requests.
- Prepare, review, and execute complete and appropriate legal and security documents required for assigned transactions, ensuring compliance with international standards and requirements to protect the bank's interests.
- Implement a one-point of contact approach to respond to and resolve all customer needs and queries related to project finance transactions.
- Contribute to providing a high level of customer service by promptly and efficiently handling all requirements for facilities, projecting a proper corporate image and delivering excellent customer service.
- Closely monitor developments on assigned transactions, promptly identify and report any negative events or early warning signs of potential issues in transactions, accounts, or relationships.
- Actively represent the bank at professional and industry events to disseminate knowledge of the bank's offerings related to project finance and to build industry relationships.
