Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Video Editor to lead our video production efforts. The Senior Video Editor will be responsible for editing high-quality video content across a range of formats, including promotional videos, commercials, social media content, documentaries, and more. This role will require strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a keen eye for storytelling and visual composition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Video Editing: Lead the video editing process from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality output that aligns with the companys vision and branding.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, manage deadlines, and collaborate with creative teams including videographers, animators, sound engineers, and graphic designers.
- Storytelling: Shape raw footage into compelling narratives, ensuring coherence, pacing, and emotional impact.
- Post-Production: Handle all post-production aspects, including color correction, sound editing, special effects, and graphics integration.
- Creative Direction: Work closely with the creative team to develop and execute video concepts, offering insights on best practices, storytelling, and visual trends.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients or stakeholders to understand their vision, provide creative input, and ensure their expectations are met.
- Quality Control: Ensure the technical quality of all video outputs (resolution, sound, color, etc.) and maintain consistency in style and branding.
- Mentorship: Train and mentor junior video editors and production staff to improve their technical skills and creative abilities.
- Staying Current: Keep up to date with the latest editing techniques, software updates, and video trends to ensure content remains modern and impactful.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in various styles (commercials, documentaries, social media, etc.).
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and other post-production tools.
- Storytelling Ability: Strong understanding of storytelling techniques, narrative pacing, and visual design principles.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in color grading, sound design, motion graphics, and visual effects.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with clients.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor junior team members and manage complex projects from start to finish.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to work under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment or with high-profile clients.
- Familiarity with various video formats and platforms (broadcast, social media, web).
- Background in cinematography or directing is a plus.
