Setter (CNC Machining)Overall responsibility for setting up and operating the CNC turning machines in accordance with production, quality and achieve global objectives set up by Operation Manager and Company.
· Sets the machines to support and achieve objectives and daily production requirements, and on time quality product outputs.
· Manages with the turning operators to deliver the planned production and to perform the jobs in accordance with the defined procedures and work instructions.
· Anticipates and overcomes production related problems, material shortages (cutting tools, coolant, consumables, etc.) and unavoidable delays where possible and plan to reduce their impact on the operation.
· Prepare the CAD programs if required and supports/reviews the WI's creation/update for the turning process in coordination with the ME department.
· Inspects manufactured components and records results as per in process inspection WI.
· Records process information and completion of the job in the shop traveler, production supported documents and data collection in ERP in order to maintain all required records as per process requirements and defined WI's.
· Performs and ensures to maintain the records for the maintenance level 1 as per WI's and requirements and shop floor organization.
· Performs the coolant testing, monitoring and follow up required for all machines (including addition).
· Participates and maintains the cleanliness of the shop and equipment for the turning area.
· Notifies and reports any issues to Operations Manager or assigned stakeholders related to CNC machine malfunction, quality defect, safety and production concerns .
· Informs as required; the maintenance team of any malfunction affecting the proper operating of the turning machines in preventing any production delays.
· Informs as required the QC Department of any non conformances and issues related to machining process and EHS issues to prevent product and EHS impacts
· Ensures proper PPE's (Personnel Protective Equipment) are worn as per safety of work requirements.
· Ensures all hazardous waste materials are properly segregated and disposed of correctly (coolant, metallic waste).
· Trains and maintains the skills/qualifications of the personnel as per their job description and know how required for their position (authority and qualification matrix).
· Supports company projects to include but not limited to process surveillance, new process qualifications as required by the management.
· Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and management.
- Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in production, manufacturing or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years experience in machining CNC turning machine in aerospace, defense industries or other industries
Relevant knowledge in CAD programing for turning machine and Fanuc, siemens controller operating system.
Relevant knowledge in sequencing machining operations.
Relevant Knowledge in cutting tools.
Ability to supervise and lead personnel.
Strong ability to train and develop personnel.
Knowledge related to jigs and fixtures design support.
Relevant knowledge in measuring characteristics and measuring equipment's for in process inspection.
Awareness of international standards in environment, health and safety.
Knowledge about solving problem, decision making, planning, leadership and analytical skills.
Customer focus and orientation skills.
