A Site Engineer with Fitout Experience will oversee the interior fit-out activities of construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The role requires a deep understanding of fitout processes, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and design teams.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate fitout activities in accordance with project schedules.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and contractors to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are available and meet the project standards.
- Site Supervision and Management:
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure that fitout works are carried out as per the approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor the work progress and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction phase.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of workmanship and materials.
- Implement quality control measures and ensure adherence to company standards and project requirements.
- Report any deviations or non-compliance to the project manager and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Cost Management:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost estimates for fitout projects.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure that costs are kept within the approved budget.
- Identify and report any potential cost overruns and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure that all fitout activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks to educate site personnel on safe working practices.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents on site and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, designers, and subcontractors.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, issues, and changes to all stakeholders.
- Ensure that client expectations are met and any concerns are addressed promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection reports.
- Prepare and submit regular project status reports to the project manager.
- Ensure all documentation is in compliance with company policies and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in site engineering, with a strong focus on fitout projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant construction management software.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in health and safety, project management, or fitout works are desirable.
- Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
