Job Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled Ski Instructors to join our team and provide professional instruction to skiers of all ages and abilities. As a Ski Instructor, you will deliver engaging, safe, and effective lessons, fostering a fun and positive learning environment for clients. Your role will involve teaching fundamental skiing techniques, improving skier confidence, and ensuring safety on the slopes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to individuals and groups at various skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers.
- Teach skiing techniques such as turning, stopping, carving, and skiing on different terrains in a clear, engaging, and patient manner.
- Create customized lesson plans based on the needs and skill levels of clients, ensuring progress is made toward their skiing goals.
- Maintain safety by following and promoting slope safety guidelines, ensuring that all lessons are conducted in a secure and controlled environment.
- Assist clients with equipment selection, fitting, and adjustments, ensuring they are properly prepared for the lesson.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to help clients improve their skills and build confidence.
- Promote a fun learning environment, ensuring a positive experience for every skier.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and resort staff to organize group lessons, events, and activities.
- Support the Ski Schools initiatives by contributing to team meetings and providing input for program improvements.
Qualifications:
- Good to excellent skiing skills.
- Experience as a Ski Instructor or a background in competitive skiing is highly preferred.
- Certification from a recognized ski instructor organization is preferred.
- Knowledge of skiing techniques, safety procedures, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to various learning styles and ages.
- Passion for skiing and the ability to motivate and inspire skiers of all levels.
- Ability to work well in a team and in variable weather conditions.
- First aid certification is a plus
- Must be able to communicate in (1)English, (2) French, and (3) Arabic
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with children and beginners.
- Familiarity with ski resort operations and customer service.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in winter weather conditions.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during the ski season.
- Physical ability to ski for extended periods and lift equipment as needed.
