Job Description

Editec is a successful lottery and sports betting consultancy, supporting clients in over 26 countries across Africa and the Middle East from a network of offices throughout Europe. The company is fast growing, highly successful, has doubled in size over the last few years and has plans for continued expansion. The company is globally recognised as a start-up specialist for gaming operations in emerging markets.

We are looking for a highly qualified Social Lawyer to join a professional and supportive team in Dubai, UAE and work with multiple operations and offices across Europe and Africa. The role will focus on the social and employment matters within Editec.

The Social Lawyer will be responsible for supporting the business in its social legal capacity with various operations across Africa.

Your Role

Realizing a standard legal approach to all operations of Editec in Africa.

Drafting and negotiating employment/consultancy contracts

Standardize and review terms and conditions of contracts prepared

Provide counseling on all legal matters from employment issues to social aspects

In charge of legal issues related to Emirati, Lebanese, European and African labor laws

Keep record of all agreements and sponsorships

Coordinate with internal stakeholders and employees

Capacity to handle a broad variety of projects as they arise

Work with internal and external legal individuals as well as other departments

In charge of all developments in the labor law, regulation and practices while preparing and maintaining legal templates and forms

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract compliance and reporting
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Oversee the yearly accounts
  • Manage the accounts in a manner that reflects the company's activities
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
  • Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management team, and rest of company
  • Manage finance personnel ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, etc)
  • Work closely with the legal department to ensure abiding by laws and regulations

Required skills and qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in Legal
  • BSc degree in Law
  • Team player, motivated and ambitious
  • Proficiency in English, French and Arabic
  • Experience in the gaming industry is highly desirable
