The Job Purpose of Project Engineer - Client communication , Project Planning, Tracking Progress , Expenses , timelines & Invoicing. Coordination of Design/engineering/NOC with various Authorities, , liaising with Supply Chain/Vendors , overseeing Solar Installation works , conducting site inspections and Performance testing of Solar Energy systems, maintaining Necessary Project Documentation , Progress reports.
Key Accountabilities:
- Planning : Developing & Tracking the Projects Plan includes Schedule and Resource Budget for the entire course of the Project Duration Using Primavera Tool.
- Cost & Time : Completion of Project within allotted Time & Budget. Able to regularly track the schedule Plan and project cost ensuring no cost over run takes place and Organisation interest remains protected in case of delay in project deleivery.
Should be able to lead discussion on any variations and changes with stake holders , ensuring any changes to the scope are aligned with contractual requirements and do not adversely impact Project P&L.
- Project Invoicing: Attaining the project invoicing periodically as per Plan with Client includes fetching require certification from Client.
- Design Coordination:Overseeing the Design, Engineering aspects of solar energy systems includes Liaising with all Project stake Holders, providing Crucial inputs for Design with coordination with Client/Consultant ensuring generation of effective coordinated drawings of Panels in accordance with industry standards and Authority regulations.
- NOC & permits: Obtaining necessary Permits and approvals for Solar Projects includes design and Field works from Concern Authorities like DM, DEWA etc.
- Procurement : Preparing BOQ of materials of Solar Energy system in accordance to Approved design includes Solar support structures, electrical cables , consumables etc.
Liaising with supply chain department for procurement process for Materials & Equipment required for Solar Projects. This includes assisting Supply chain on sourcing, negotiating to ensure timely delivery of Materials & appointment of subcontractors for the project.
- Construction : Managing Supervision of Installation works of solar energy system on multiple projects , carried out in house as well as subcontracted works. This includes enabling logistic arrangement for shifting of solar energy system materials from stores to site, ensuring permits for site works, deploying optimal resources on various project sites , Manage project scheduling for installation & testing commissioning of solar Energy system .
- Inspection & testing : Conducting site Inspection , Performance testing /commissioning of Solar energy system in accordance to Authority requirements ensuring proper functionality and Performance.
- Quality Control : Implementation of QA/AC procedure to ensure the solar energy system are installed and commissioned according to Design standards and Specifications.
- Risk Management:Identifying the potential Risks and developing mitigation Strategies to minimize project delays and Cost over runs. Review Project Forecasts and expenditure reports to ensure projects meets financial target.
- Project Documentation : Maintaining Project documentation includes establishing formal correspondence on the delays , variations etc with Client/Consultant essential in the event of Project Extension of time ( EOT) . Maintaining all drawings , specifications and Reports. Submission of Regular Project Progress Report to Project stake holders and Project Manager.
Finance Scope
Cost control -Effectively track expenses for project under execution, maintaining the allotted project Budget by avoiding Project delays, cost over run on Labor , procurement of Materials and potential risk of any Variations from subcontracted works.
Reports:. Periodically submit data/Report related to project Progress vital for Generation of MIS reports for Project Manager. Review

Job Decision Span
- Assisting PM in development of various plan for Multiple projects running in parallel.
- Communication with clients to provide update on project progress Progress and address any concerns or questions they may have during the project lifecycle.
- Assisting PM on making decision on Budget allocation, cost estimation and Cost benefit analysis
- Allocation of supervisors/Charge hand / labor on various project site.
- Making suggestions to Augment procedure related to Quality Control and monitoring to ensure solar projects meet performance standards and deliver the expected energy output over their lifespan.

Physical Environment
- Site surveys/Construction/Installation/Testing phase of solar projects warrants presence of project engineer at site to oversee the installation/Testing works .
- Willingness to travel to work on various project sites including remote location as needed.
Work Environment:
- The role involves in some cases exposure to varying weather conditions on construction sites and potentially hazardous situations.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering with minimum of 5 year experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of Project management experience in Solar projects commercial warehouses , factories , and industrial buildings.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge :
- Project Management including scheduling, Budgeting, Controlling, Risk management and Resource allocation.
- Technical Know how on Solar Energy system. Fundamentals of Solar Energy , basic electrical systems , wring inverters , power electronics & electrical safety.
- Regulations and standards,
- Understanding mechanical systems , structural considerations , mounting systems.
