The Sound System Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of sound systems in various settings including events, concerts, theaters, and other venues. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, setting up equipment, and ensuring optimal sound quality for all audio-related activities.
Install, configure, and test sound systems and equipment, including microphones, speakers, mixers, and amplifiers.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on sound equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Provide technical support during events, including troubleshooting and resolving any sound issues that arise.- Conduct sound checks before events to ensure audio quality and make necessary adjustments.
Monitor and manage sound equipment inventory, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Work closely with event organizers, performers, and other technicians to understand audio requirements and deliver high-quality sound experiences.
Ensure all sound equipment and setups comply with safety standards and regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in audio engineering or a related field preferred.- Proven experience as a sound system technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of audio equipment and sound engineering principles.
Proficiency in setting up and operating various sound equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of audio mixing and sound editing software is a plus.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Capable of working in various environments, including outdoor settings.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
