Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Specialist - Market Management will form part of a highly skilled group of sales, commercial, technical and management experts who are responsible to wholesale and leverage Bayobab's global infrastructure within MTN Group and further develop Bayobab wholesale business. They will support Market Managers and Sales, by identifying and tracking market trends, opportunities, on-going competitive intelligence. They will assess the market by integrating data from multiple internal and external sources to provide actionable insights that drive Bayobab Voice and non-voice performance. The role will provide inputs in the development of the international wholesale mobility commercial strategy and drive revenue growth in this segment.

The Specialist - Market Management will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
Strategy and Development
- Develop and implement a robust competitive intelligence gathering and dissemination process.
- Translate analytics, including benchmarking, into actionable content to enable timely and relevant decision-making- drive relevant market insight dashboards.
- Improve department reporting procedures, accuracy through automation, as well as manage data integrity
- Determine effective ways to communicate key competitive data to wholesale mobility team and the rest of Bayobab organization in a timely manner and establish a process for identifying impactful changes.
- Provide insight and support voice and non-voice strategic planning process with emphasis on evaluating external market trends, macroeconomic factors, regulatory developments, and the competitive landscape e.g. ITR evolution tracking.
- Work in conjunction with the Market Managers to support the alignment of Bayobab and OpCo Voice and non-voice strategies, including the alignment of operating models, operating systems, procedures, and processes with the OpCos.
- Collaborate closely with global and regional stakeholders across Bayobab Group digital, MFS, sales, technology, finance, etc. to identify and interpret signals in the marketplace that Bayobab Voice need to recognize and leverage as competitive advantage.
- Leverage key industry events and forums to gain in-depth insights and deliver, clear, actionable, impactful business recommendations for sales stakeholders.
- Consistently review key learning from OpCos and identify the most impactful areas of learning.
- Contribute towards the integrated and integrated and holistic sales strategy aligned to MTN Group mission and vision.
- Contribute and assist in driving innovation by continuously analysing the business to provide leadership with a view of the improvements and enhancements required.
- Analyse trends and collect customer / partner information and best practices.
- Keep abreast of international voice and non-voice best practice, technologies and industry trends and market requirements.
- Educate stakeholders and internal customers on the role of Bayobab Voice
Sales & Marketing
- Support market managers in deal management by providing updated, relevant market and customer insights.
- Support voice and non-voice sales plans/forecast and provide input to the review and approval of new product plans.
- Contribute towards short and long-term sustainable forecasts and predictions (3 - 5 years), analysing trends and highlighting areas of the business that may be developed further.
- Support the development of the voice and non-voice marketing plan and ensure delivery thereto.
- Support the delivery on customer specific voice and non-voice strategies.
- Identify trends / patterns pertaining to customer voice and non-voice needs and filter this information through to market managers, product development and sales.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management
- Business analysis certification/experience is as an advantage
- Fluent in English
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years functional experience in a financial/business analyst, market intelligence or a strategic planning role with an enterprise-sized organisation
- Minimum 3 years in Telecommunications, Technology, or related B2B industry experience
- Wholesale voice market knowledge is desirable
- Good understanding of the telecommunication industry especially wholesale carrier services is desirable.
- Excellent technology skills with strong Excel (macros, pivot tables, look-ups, and filtering), PowerPoint, Power BI, and Word skills
- Experience working in a medium-large organization
Competencies:
- Commercial/business acumen to support translation of analysis into viable business insights and opinions.
- Hands on experience and ability to work with large data sets and draw actionable insights.
- Maturity to handle ambiguity and adaptive to dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical skills to execute Bayobab strategy and high-level reports.
