To provide advice and to negotiate infrastructure contracts such as Port User Licenses, Port Agency Agreements, Service agreements, Access & Indemnity Agreements, Utility agreements, Bulk Supply Agreements, Master Agreements, Infrastructure sharing agreements, Joint Infrastructure arrangements, Cost sharing arrangements and general land and infrastructure matters
To advise on drafting/revising land lease procedures and industrial cities regulations such as Port Regulations, Environmental Regulations, Fire and Safety Regulations
To advise on claims and breaches of contract including advising on remedies and eviction of land
To provide general commercial Legal advice on a wide range of operational matters and other contracts as assigned by the Associate General Counsel or Head Counsel, in accordance with QatarEnergy's Policies and applicable laws and regulations to the best interest of QatarEnergy
To help continuously improve the way the department and its clients work for example by: improving model contracts, creating guidance material, training others, creating digital tools to empower colleagues in the front lines and simplifying the way we work
Requirements
10+ years of legal and contracts experience including most of the practice areas listed in the scope above
Civil law background is required, additional common law background/experience is advantageous in particular drafting of contracts
Excellent legal drafting and writing skills in English
Experience with a port authority
Experience with leases and other property contracts
Education
Juris Doctorate, Bachelors of Law or equivalent from recognized University, preferably post graduation studies or Master's degree of Law
