Job Description

Finding solutions to climate change is the priority of the 21st century, and means switching to low-carbon energy. At Assystem, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition worldwide. To achieve this, our 7,000 Switchers combine their historical engineering expertise and project management with digital technologies.

In our 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia) of operation, we are working on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.

Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a Sr Engineer, he/she plays a crucial role in providing expert technical guidance and leadership to the diverse portfolio of projects. He/she will be responsible for executing various Electrical assignments, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions to the clients, bidding of substation, transmission and underground projects. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior Engineers and designers. Collaborating with Client/Vendor Requirements for Substation Design for AIS, GIS Substations and develop drawings/documents for Primary Electrical Design, that meet project goals and operational standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Project Management: Lead and manage multiple Electrical engineering projects from inception to completion. This includes establishing project objectives, creating work plans, managing resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  2. Technical Expertise: Apply extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to develop innovative solutions for the clients challenges. Provide advice on complex technical issues and offer guidance on best practices.
  3. Design and Analysis: Conduct detailed of primary electrical design and analysis for various systems, components, and equipment. This includes evaluating performance, efficiency, safety, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  4. Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and objectives. Develop strong professional relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts and project progress to clients.
  5. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers in their professional development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and skills enhancement.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all Electrical deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Conduct thorough reviews of designs, reports, and documents to verify accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical design technologies, tools, and methodologies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and actively contribute to the enhancement of our engineering practices.
  8. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility in all engineering projects. Adhere to relevant regulations and implement appropriate safety measures.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Project Delivery:

Achieve an average project completion rate of 95%-98% within the specified timeline.

Ensure that 90%-95% of projects meet or exceed client expectations and receive positive feedback.

Technical Excellence:

Reduce design errors and rework by 20%-30% through thorough reviews and verification processes.

Implement 2-4 new design improvements or innovative solutions that enhance project efficiency or performance.

Client Satisfaction:

Maintain a client satisfaction score of 90%-95% based on post-project surveys.

Team Development:

Conduct 2-4 training sessions or workshops to enhance the skills of the Junior Engineers and designers in the team.

Facilitate the professional growth of team members, resulting in a 10%-15% improvement in their performance evaluations.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Proven expertise in Primary System Design
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as ETAP, CDEGS & primary design calculations & etc,.
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality results and meeting project deadlines.

Generic Skills:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Years of Experience / Sector

Minimum of [10] years of experience as a Primary Electrical design engineer within a consulting firm or a similar industry along with experience in bidding of 380kv substations, overhead transmission lines and underground cable network projects.
