JOB PURPOSE:
Provide trouble shooting and technical advice and develop efficient, cost-effective solutions for technical problems in the assigned asset area utilizing simulation and modelling techniques to meet the future requirements and optimize / maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and monitor the performances of existing SRU & SWS units through key performance indicators (KPIs) representing the process plant's optimum operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
- Issue quarterly SRU & SWS performance benchmarking reports highlighting the KPIs, analysis, and performance improvement recommendations.
- Provide professional engineering advice and technical expertise to support development and optimization of unit operational plans.
- Provide relevant information and advice to support the development of a sound departmental business plan.
- Monitor operating parameters to ensure unit streams are within specified IOW limits
- Provides technical input for advanced process control applications to enhance operation of the unit.
- Issue monthly operating performance report highlighting the KPI's, analysis and performance improvement recommendations.
- Ability to handle and lead Process Safety Activities (PHA's) as a self-directed individual
- Execute required plant change (MOC's) in assigned units as a self-directed individual
- Execute and provide support to operations in implementing process Safety/Reliability/performance improvement initiatives and/or recommendations
- Provide support to HAZOP and SIL studies as required
- Participate and provide inputs to RCA/incident investigation activities
- Execute assigned inspection activities and monitoring of catalyst loading during SD/TA to support QA/QC and ensure compliance with agreed work practices and methodology.
- Provide support for Start-up/Shut-down activities
- Provide support to Projects team at various stages (Identify/Assess, Design, Execute phase)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years refinery experience including 5 years in SRU's and SWS including TGT units. Shell Claus Off Gas Treating (SCOT) Licensed Units are preferable.
- Thorough knowledge in Catalyst Selection & Evaluation is required
- Working knowledge of PRO/II, Aspen HYSYS
