Job Purpose
To manage, control and monitor all commercial and quantity surveying activities from the award of the work until project close out ensuring project cost management in compliance with the organisations established procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit all MIS reports as per the approved format in a timely manner.
- Supervise and submit interim and final applications for payment certificates.
- Submit all commercial claims and requests for variations, provisional sums, new rate analysis and adjustments to the contract price.
- Attend commercial meetings and follow up with the Engineer/Employer for the review and approval of all the commercial submissions.
- Supervisor, review and approve the subcontractor payment applications and issue the payment certificates.
- Manage the project cost management function including development of budget, cost monitoring and control and recommending corrective action to avoid cost overrun.
- Supervise the preparation of take-off of measurements from drawings.
- Coordinate with the technical team and ensure that all the work inspection requests are submitted and approved in a timely manner.
- Commercially review subcontractor quotations and prepare comparative statements and bid tabs.
- Prepare all contractual correspondences related to commercial activities, provide feedback to the tender department on the actual cost incurred and carry out all other commercial tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
- Any other duties as reasonable requested by the line/function manager.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a relevant field
Experience
- Minimum ten (10) years the UAE on infrastructure and building projects
- Must have independently handled projects from commencement to close out
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of all standard method of measurements including POMI and CESMM
- Comprehensive knowledge of quantity take-off and measurement for all types of work
- Comprehensive knowledge of various rate analysis techniques
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract
- Working knowledge of MS Office, ERP systems and AutoCAD
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead a team of Quantity Surveyors
- Good organisational, planning and multi-tasking abilities
- Analytical, critical and logical thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Exceptional presentational and communication skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions
- Head Office/Site based
