Job Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining the reliability and technical integrity of rotating equipment assets in the assigned plant area, leading a team of engineers and condition monitoring technicians. Provide technical support to operations, reliability strategies and maintenance activities, including performance assessment, trouble shooting, failure investigation and development of recommendations. Develop report and analyze asset key performance indicators including the improvement action plans. Review condition monitoring programs reports (offline and online systems).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Monitor implementation of rotating equipment condition monitoring program to ensure compliance to established programs.
- Assess condition monitoring analysis reports, troubleshoot deviations and recommend corrective activities to ensure and enhance the reliability, availability and integrity of rotating equipment.
- Carry out technical studies of Bad Actors and MTA processes (rotating equipment) and engage equipment vendors/external experts as needed.
- Lead/Participate in formal root cause analysis investigations of rotating equipment failures and provide recommendations to ensure and enhance asset reliability.
- Act as subject matter expert (Rotating Equipment Reliability) in the assigned area and provide technical advice for operations and maintenance on rotating equipment performance and conditions.
- Advice repair methods to ensure and enhance rotating equipment integrity and reliability.
- Provide shutdown / turnaround resources for the condition monitoring of rotating equipment to ensure and enhance availability and integrity of plant and equipment. This includes trim balancing and equipment start-ups.
- Provide resources for the rotating equipment performance and mechanical reviews of existing installation when required and/or new asset during FAT and SAT.
- Assign and release work orders (Z1/Z2 types) to the rotating equipment technicians for their assigned areas.
- Review and approve work orders completed by the rotating equipment technicians and confirm technical completion.
- Provide technical advice and quality assurance for maintenance related to scope of work for the equipment overhauls. Define hold points and witness critical activities at site/ workshop.
- Review and approve maintenance strategies and equipment care routines developed by maintenance strategy teams.
- Develop and implement rotating equipment best practices in line with industry performance benchmarks.
- Ensure the business processes and work activities, relevant to position, are executed in compliance with SASREF policy, procedures and best practice to achieve the business objectives in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- ISO vibration analysis certification (Cat. III or above).
