Job Description
With overall responsibility for all technical topics in a product and/or platform development with his/her knowledge covering the whole system (incl. the upper level system, e.g. IoT platform) of the new product.
Representative in product/platform development teams responsible for all questions related to engineering. Expand & maintain system design technical solutions, drive train and tool component. First contact person for product owner or project manager regarding technical questions and design.
The person to consolidate cross-domain state of art technology to summarize a holistic conclusion and proposals on system boundaries, technical feasibility and the focused area of pre-development in the project preparation phase or early concept phase.
Create the initial engineering concept and its system architect of the product under development. Deploy the system requirements into subsystem requirements via a bi-direction and living alignment with domain engineers.
Contact person for the industrial design house for discussion related to components and technical issues. Responsible for the fitting of all components into the industrial design. Release of design orders to the design house via Execution Owner. Responsible to align other UX relevant features, e.g. HMI, APP feature, following the same principle.
Develop together with testing experts from domain engineering and quality the verification plan at all levels of system acc. to technical needs, including upper level IoT system and lower level components
Coordination of supporting functions, project team members, domain engineers and suppliers to drive for technical solutions iterations acc. to aligned customer requirement.
Finalize engineering concept and achieved agreed BES-PE maturity level with necessary technical documentation.
Ensure intellectual property protection by timely filing of invention reports before involvement of third parties.
Create, consolidate and maintain technical files together with domain engineers, e.g. drawings with CAD system, part lists (BOM), FMEA, risk assessment, etc.
Follow the project schedule, responsible that all engineering members keep the schedule.
Support line and warranty teams for technical related quality problem solving
Ensure all drawings and documents are up-to-date based on engineering change (EC) requests.
Apply content driven engineering (follow BES-PE principles)
Apply all processes according to valid PT and Bosch procedures published in BGN.
Train young EPV in basic technical & product knowledge in internal organization.
Support Product Technical Champion on technology benchmarking in the market.
Support and take over special tasks on execution team level as assigned by the Execution Owner
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
At least 5 years of professional experience. Participation in product development projects for at least 3 years with at least three successful project closings. Of which, at least one project had high level system complexity with smart electronics control features and/or system deployment across domains (mechanical, electronics hardware, software).
Experience in new product development process and the tools/processes used.
Design for consumer goods or household appliances. Related areas are automotive and industrial applications.
Exposure to the manufacturing process of various components, especially for plastic and metal parts.
Basic understanding on PCBA and motor manufacturing process would be a plus.
Transfer of technical requirements into a design solution by applying a systematic approach
Understanding cause-effect relationships of technical details

Outstanding skills and abilities in field of competence
Successful participation in BES-PE training
Application of GIS, ANDI system, >1 year user or training done
Creo CAD system experience
Advanced user of relevant software tools, e.g. Codebeamer
SAP basic user
