Our client, a leading semi-government hospital, is currently seeking an experienced and compassionateStaff Nurseto join theirPediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)team. In this role, your responsibilities would include but not limited to:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions.
Monitoring and Assessment: Continuously monitor vital signs, lab results, and clinical condition of patients in the PICU. Detect and respond to changes in patient conditions.
Collaborative Care: Work closely with pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care and optimize patient outcomes.
Family Support: Provide emotional support and education to families of pediatric patients. Serve as a liaison between medical staff and families, explaining medical procedures and ensuring families are informed and involved in care decisions.
Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, progress, and any changes in condition in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Patient Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety guidelines, and hospital procedures. Identify and report any potential safety hazards.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in pediatric nursing care. Participate in continuing education and clinical training, and contribute to the development of unit protocols.
Quality Improvement: Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in case reviews, audits, and other activities aimed at enhancing care standards in the PICU.
