We are seeking a talented and experienced Steel Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the development of steel structures, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role requires a strong commitment to engineering excellence, attention to detail, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.
Your new role, what's involved
- Conduct comprehensive structural analysis and calculations to validate the integrity and safety of steel structures, adhering to international codes and standards.
- Design and analyze steel connections for primary and secondary structure components, considering load paths, stability, and safety factors.
- Participate in business development initiatives, assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and participating in client presentations to demonstrate design capabilities.
- Perform value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising structural integrity or design objectives.
- Create and develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and comprehensive project documentation.
- Conduct constructability studies and necessary construction analyses to ensure efficient and safe assembly of steel structures.
- Design and review faade components, including aluminum, stainless steel, and glass, ensuring compatibility and integration with the primary structural system.
- Review and approve structural calculation reports submitted by contractors for both temporary and permanent works, ensuring alignment with design standards.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to identify and develop practical, cost-effective structural solutions.
- Oversee the fabrication and installation of steel components, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Review and provide feedback on method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings related to the project's construction.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide on-site technical support to resolve construction-related challenges.
- Ensure all projects adhere to relevant building codes, regulations, and quality standards, with meticulous attention to detail and documentation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing knowledge transfer to foster team development and strengthen technical expertise within the organization.
- Identify and resolve potential structural issues early, applying innovative engineering solutions to maintain project continuity.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on the latest design tools, industry standards, and materials available in the Gulf region.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field from a reputable university; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience working on projects within the Gulf region, with a solid understanding of regionally available materials and construction practices.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in steel structural engineering or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Robot, IDEAStatica, LIMCON, RAM, REVIT, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of steel design codes and standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocode, SBC) and awareness of concrete structural components for integrated project needs.
- Effective communicator with excellent problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
