The
Steward is responsible for below tasks and others assigned by thier departments as necessary.
- To ensure the safe storage, care and use of any chemicals, to protect themselves and colleagues from incorrect or dangerous usage.
- To ensure everyone maintains correct usage of required safety equipment, including gloves, boots, goggles, mask or hats.
- To ensure that all surfaces, areas and operating equipment of the hotel under the control of stewarding are cleaned in order to maintain the hygiene standards of the hotel.
- To empty and clean waste bins and areas according to schedule whenever they need emptying and cleaning.
- To ensure that exit areas are kept free of obstacles at all times.
- To ensure that all dishwashing areas and equipment are kept clean at all times, and to liaise with engineering for maintenance.
- To play an active and leading role in the energy-conservation and environmental policies and practices of the hotel.
- To perform any other related duties as requested.
- Maintain the highest standards of Food Hygiene, and adherence with all Health and Safety standards.
- Report and take appropriate action to correct any health or safety hazard.
- Liaise with Engineering regarding maintenance and repairs of equipment.
- Instruct staff on all emergency measures in case of accident and have a first aid kit available and stocked in the kitchens, in collaboration with hotel's clinic.
- Ensure all work areas in the kitchen are kept tidy and clean.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety and Hygiene Regulations
- Carry out any other reasonable task set by the Hotel's Management
Job Specifications:
- Must have at least 1 year relevant experience in a similar role
- Fluent in English
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Teamwork-oriented
- Ability to Work Under Pressure, Self-Motivated and possesses Creative Problem-Solving Skills
- Flexibility to respond to a range of various work situations
